Wonder Woman (2017) emerges as a film that portrays a female protagonist in a markedly male universe. With one of the biggest box office of the year, it presents itself as an advance of the space occupied by women in the cinematographic medium. In 2019, Captain Marvel retrieves this achievement and advances the agenda on representativeness with greater creative liberty and more female professionals in her production. The aim of this article is to analyze the issues related to female representativeness and protagonism in these works that appear as an important stage in a process of conquering space for women in films based on Comics.
