Resumen

Este documento analiza más de cerca el pensamiento crítico en Yemen. Navega por el pensamiento crítico en la educación universitaria de diseño gráfico yemení. Este documento aborda la falta de investigación en las áreas del pensamiento crítico, ya que Yemen no ha fomentado ni utilizado tradicionalmente el pensamiento crítico en la educación en diseño gráfico. Dentro del diseño, un campo de estudio donde se requiere pensamiento crítico para crear soluciones a problemas existentes y nuevos, se busca una gama de soluciones culturalmente relevantes para los problemas,en lugar de la misma solución para cada uno (Barbour, 2016). Sin embargo, existe la oportunidad de investigar el pensamiento crítico desde una cosmovisión islámica yemení. Esta es una oportunidad para que todos participemos en una conversación sobre lo que podría significar el pensamiento crítico en la cultura islámica. En última instancia, este documento tiene como objetivo dar a conocerla literatura islámica y occidental sobre el pensamiento crítico y presentar este entendimiento dentro de la educación en diseño gráfico yemení.
