Pensar, fotografiar: un enfoque basado en el lugar en la investigación guiada por la práctica

El artículo presenta la práctica de la fotografía como una metodología de investigación guiada por la práctica, destacando las convenciones y los métodos fotográficos como enfoques de investigación clave. Para ilustrar estas ideas, pondré en primer plano ejemplos de mi práctica fotográfica y la de otros practicantes. Mi atención se centra en la investigación que explora temas basados en lugares en los que la fotografía desempeña el papel de generar pensamiento y creación de lugares. El artículo posiciona la fotografía como una metodología de investigación completa dirigida por la práctica dentro de la academia, contextualizando prácticas y momentos históricos clave para proponer un modelo ampliado de representación del lugar. Rastrearé los avances de la fotografía y sus usos durante el período colonial, la introducción al paisaje y luego la progresión a la fotografía turística. Como un enfoque contrario a estos marcos, propongo un modelo iterativo más matizado de representación de lugares capaz de representar múltiples imaginarios de lugares. Esto permite que los artistas visuales, los investigadores orientados a la práctica y los etnógrafos amplíen las agendas de investigación y los enfoques metodológicos existentes para el lugar y la creación de lugares.
