In this self-assessment, I describe my experience with artificial intelligence (AI) tools in academic production. Some AI applications have been useful for translations and revisions of academic texts and for generating animations for scientific communication video abstracts. However, ChatGPT, which I use for initial explorations of topics and footnotes, still presents limitations and inconsistencies, requiring revisions and adjustments until the final draft. While serving as a valuable resource for researchers, AI does not replace the human capacity to establish connections between the real world and the literature. Therefore, I encourage a balanced approach in its use in academic production.
