The Tools of Interactivity in Interior Webjournalism: a portrait of reader participation in the extreme south of Brazil

Abstract

The present work intends to present a preliminary picture of the online press of the extreme south of Brazil. For this moment of the research, the website of Jornal Diário Popular (Pelotas / RS) was studied. Based on the assumptions of the content analysis applied to journalism (HERSCOVITZ, 2008), 288 information entries were published in the period of one week (June 20 to 26, 2012). In the study, we noticed the first advances in terms of interactivity, but also several gaps in the promotion of a greater participation of the reader. The discussion is based on the works of Dornelles (2011), Primo (2007) and Quadros (2005).
