Social TV: the synergy between hashtags and ratings

The article aims to discuss the recent phenomenon called Social TV and analyze how it has contributed to the release of the series Pretty Little Liars. As a result of the new ecosystem of connectivity we live in, Social TV modifies audience metrics, audience participation level, narratives, viewer reception, and brings back the appointment television. The American production Pretty Little Liars represents the meeting of three fundamental points for the engagement of the media subjects and the synergy between the backchannel and the TV.Downloads
