This article makes a semblance about the life of the researcher Octavio Getino, emphasizing his artistic, professional and political antecedents - in a life that was marked by the vicissitudes of a turbulent period of Argentine history -, until becoming the recognized researcher of Latin American media recognized worldwide

Author Biography

Roque González

Investigador de cine y audiovisual latinoamericano. Fue becario en la Universidad de Texas y en la Universidad de Calgary (Canadá). Autor del libro “Cine latinoamericano y nuevas tecnologías audiovisuales” (Fundación Nuevo Cine Latinoamericano, La Habana, 2011) y de libros y artículos sobre mercado de cine, nuevas tecnologías audiovisuales e industrias culturales publicados en varios países. Trabajó con Octavio Getino en investigaciones regionales de cine y audiovisual. Fue parte constitutiva, junto a Getino, en la creación del Observatorio del Mercosur Audiovisual (OMA-RECAM) y del Observatorio del Cine y el Audiovisual Latinoamericano (OCAL-FNCL). Referente latinoamericano del Observatorio Europeo del Audiovisual.
