Abstract

Cláudia Tomaz is one of the most interesting representatives of a new generation of Portuguese filmmakers. Tired of a certain invisibility to which Portuguese cinema remains voted, decided to bypass the traditional forms of distribution, creating online platforms for production and exhibition of their films. The spectators are thanking! The director's life and curriculum speak for themselves. Cláudia Tomaz had the opportunity to work with some of the best national cinematographic references, such as Paulo Rocha, Pedro Costa and José Álvaro Morais, after finishing a degree in Communication Sciences at Universidade Nova de Lisboa. He made several short films, documentaries and two feature films - Nights (Best Film Award in the Venice Film Festival Week in 2000) and We (Bocallino Prize at the 2003 Locarno Film Festival in Switzerland). At the age of 37, he currently resides in London and does not consider the possibility of returning to Portugal at all.
