Social merchandising and the codes of the television image: the construction of meanings in Telenovela

The aim of this paper is to analyze how the television image plays an important role in shaping contemporary social merchandising in soap operas. With this use will Martine Joly perspective, based on Roland Barthes, the discussions proposed for John Fiske, whose scholar highlights the television as a discourse and approach of Stuart Hall’s encoding and decoding. Understanding how the social merchandising is present in television picture consists of codes and this helps bring the practice of social merchandising and the public.Downloads
