This article aimed to select and analyze recent audiovisual works in order to discuss how hybrid animation can be perceived as an aesthetic and narrative innovation in audiovisual media. To this end, the three selected films were analyzed based on the following criteria: (1) The animation techniques employed; (2) The construction of the visual style; and (3) The structuring of the narrative. Finally, this analysis found that hybrid animation is not merely a technical resource but also an aesthetic, narrative, and conceptual strategy. Thus, hybrid animation contributes to the construction of aesthetic and narrative innovation through the expansion of audiovisual language.
