Living Life on the Threshold of the Screen: The Transmedia Narrative Comes to the Soap Opera

This article is an attempt to take as object sudy a phenomenon that scholars of the relationship between media and society would call transmedia storytelling through analysis of Sonhos de Luciana blog as an extension of the plot of the Viver a Vida a pimetime soap opera from Rede Globo. Our analysis focuses on the strategies used by Rede Globo to incorporate tools of production and circulation of content in the soap in order to reinvent itself as a contemporary product. This article also tries to reflect about transmedia storytelling applying it to the soap opera and its relevance to the new spectator who becomes a user generated content (UGC).Downloads
