Starting off a scientific initiation research about YouTube, developed between 2017 and 2018, this paper aims to detail the software YouTube Data Tools (YTDT) and understand the particularities of Brazilian webseries reception. YTDT is a tool developed by Digital Methods Initiative (DMI), which has the goal to colect quantitative data from YouTube; one of the main goals of the scientific initiation research was to explore this tool, so that more Brazilian researchers coulds acquire the expertise necessary for its manipulation. In this paper, in the first moment, the metodology developed in previous studies will be used in order to choose a Brazilian and a foreigner webseries. Then, we are going to develop a specific metodology to produce data about the comments made upon the first episodes of said webseries. By the end of this article, we hope to have started profiling serial fiction made for YouTube viewing group, while also detailing another YTDT function.
