From where and to whom the fans speak
A study on fan clubs dedicated to virtual celebrity Karol Pinheiro
Abstract
This work is a bias of my Masters Dissertation defended in 2017 and aims to update the data collected then, bringing new looks to understand how fans are organized within the network, how they communicate with their peers, what values they hold in their community, what forms of content production and meaning, and, finally, the gratification brought about by involvement with the idol and the other members of a fan club.
