Communication or connection?

Abstract

In recent years, a number of concepts, patterns and technologies have emerged to modify distribution and access to information. The communications industry increasingly attracted to delivering content across diverse media alternatives, aims to reach the largest number of consumers by providing communication, entertainment and information services anytime, anywhere. On the other hand, advances in Information and Communication Technology (ICT) bring challenges to this industry, such as managing the increasing complexity of the information transmitted, which can take on various media formats. The objective of this article is to deal with the complexity that circumscribes the digital space and, specifically, to deal with the case of electronic platforms that are programmed to transmit the contents produced technologically, without meeting the needs and capacities of the subject receiver, or user, as it is commonly called. It has, moreover, the intention to propose principles so that, in case the connection occurs, it is possible to transform it into communication, as we conceive it, based on the dialogue between the two poles of the communicative process.
