El iluminacionismo persa como metodología heurística en la investigación guiada por la práctica creativa

Resumen

Este artículo está estructurado en dos partes. La primera considera el paradigma de investigación que emana del Iluminacionismo persa (especialmente los trabajos del filósofo persa Suhrawardi). Su manera iluminacionista de conocer, el ‘conocimiento por presencia’, ha permitido a muchos artistas abordar la indagación a través de una relación entre intuición y praxis. La segunda sección del artículo se ocupa de la metodología y explico cómo se consolida el iluminacionismo a través de una indagación heurística. Propongo un viaje que comprende siete etapas de autorrealización extraídas de La conferencia de los pájaros (un texto persa iluminador clásico de Attar de Nishapur). Estas etapas se correlacionan de alguna manera con los siete conceptos esenciales de la investigación heurística de Moustakas (1990). Sin embargo, argumento que donde los conceptos de Moustakas eventualmente se enfocan en cumplir con los requisitos para producir resultados de investigación, el marco iluminacionista de Attar preserva la apertura de la investigación y puede facilitar el descubrimiento continuo.

Biografía del autor/a

Hossein Najafi, Auckland University of Technology

Hossein Najafi is a lecturer and Visual Effects Pathway leader in the Digital Design department. Hossein is a practicing artist and a film maker as well as a scholar who examines media language and aesthetics. He is currently completing a PhD. His research project is a practice-led enquiry that negotiates bridges between identity theories and narrative form. In his inquiries he uses a variety of technologies including Motion Capture, Deep Learning, Virtual Human and Advanced Dynamic Simulations in his practice.
