VOD DISTRIBUTION: AN ANALYSIS OF THE EUROPEAN ENVIRONMENT AND FRENCH REGULATIONS

This article assesses the circulation of audiovisual works, especially feature films, in video on-demand platforms (VOD) in Europe, with focus in France. It analyzes French regulations that determine a minimum window of 36 months between the commercial release in theaters and the allowance of streaming exhibition (SVOD). From market data compiled by the European Audiovisual Observatory, this article also comparatively discusses the impacts in the sector.Downloads
